From Fr. Streitenberger

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I am honored and excited to be the administrator of Sacred Heart! I grew up in Waverly, Ohio, and am the youngest of seven children. My parents still live in Waverly. I have twelve nieces and nephews and four great nieces and nephews. After my seminary studies at the Josephinum and Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland, I was ordained on May 26, 2007. I served at St. Francis de Sales in Newark and taught religion at Newark Catholic for two years. For another two years, I assisted at St. Matthews in Gahanna and at Mount Carmel East hospital. I was the pastor in Portsmouth of St. Mary of the Annunciation and Holy Redeemer churches for six years. Two years ago, I moved to the Cathedral to finish a degree, a Licentiate in Sacred Theology, focused on the New Evangelization. My fulltime job is the Bishop’s Coordinator for Evangelization. In that role, I assist the bishop in identifying evangelization priorities in the diocese and by helping lay apostolates, diocesan offices, and parishes in their work of evangelization. In addition to administering Sacred Heart, I will continue to assist with weekday Masses and Confessions at the Cathedral, where I continue to reside. I have many interests and hobbies. I enjoy crossfit, running, watching sports (especially Notre Dame football), gardening, reading, and listening to music. I look forward to getting to know all of you.
