From Fr. Kitsmiller for Sunday, July 7, 2019

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I want to thank everyone who participated in our feast day celebration on June 28th, the Feast of the Sacred Heart. It was heartwarming to see such a full church. I want to thank all those who put on the dinner afterward for Bishop Brennan, as well. I think everyone enjoyed it.

This Sunday, while I am away, Fr. Silvano Velasquez of the Missionary Fraternity of Mary is covering the Masses and preaching about his religious communities’ work in the more poorer areas of the world, especially Latin America. I want thank Fr. Velasquez for being here and sharing his work of the Gospel. The Mission Appeal Sunday that we have every year helps us to reflect on the universal nature of the body of Christ and how we are connected through the love of God, the grace of Jesus Christ and the communion of the Holy Spirit. Let us also continue to pray for more vocations, especially for the priesthood and religious life.

Have a blessed week!
