From Fr. Kitsmiller for Sunday, June 30

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I wish everyone a blessed Independence Day celebration this Thursday, July 4th. Let us thank God for the freedoms that we enjoy in our country, but let us also use those freedoms responsibly in service of God and one another, as St. Paul also exhorts us in the second reading from the letter to the Galatians.

Also, next Sunday, July 7th, we welcome Fr. Silvano Velasquez of The Missionary Fraternity of Mary. Fr. Velasquez is coming from Guatemala to give a mission appeal for the work that his religious community does in the Church, especially in poorer areas of the world. The work of his community includes youth retreats, education and basic life resources. Fr. Velasquez’s visit is part of our parish’s participation in the Diocese of Columbus’ annual Missionary Cooperation Plan. This is a way for us to support the Church’s missionary call to teach the Gospel to all nations. We welcome Fr. Velasquez and I thank you in advance for your generosity.

Have a blessed week!
