From Fr. Kitsmiller

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We conclude the Christmas season this Sunday with the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. In the Gospel, the dove is seen descending upon Jesus representing the Holy Spirit and the voice of the Father is heard, “you are my beloved son, with you I am well pleased.” The same idea is meant for our own Baptism. The Holy Spirit descends upon us and we are seen as the beloved sons and daughters of the Father, a new creation in Christ. This is the wonderful new life that we are given and which we should cherish and guard from the evil of the world. We also give this life to our children in their Baptism. It must be protected until they claim it as their own. The Lord Jesus commanded us to baptize and so we should give this gift to our children. If you have not had your child baptized, I encourage you to contact our office to go over the steps that you need to take. I want to thank everyone for their generous gifts this Christmas, both to myself and the parish. I appreciate all of your support.

God bless you all.
