From Fr. Kitsmiller

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I want to alert to you regarding a change in our Mass schedule for the weekend of October 6th and 7th only. There will be no 4:00 p.m. Mass on October 6 and our regular 11:00 a.m. Sunday Mass will be changed to 10:00 a.m. The reason for this change is because of a parish fund raiser that we do on the first weekend of October in conjunction with The Columbus Italian Festival down the street at St. John the Baptist. We staff our parking lot charging patrons of the Italian Festival. We do this Friday night, all day on Saturday and on Sunday, following the 10:00 a.m. Mass. I know this is a bit of a sacrifice, especially for those who are used to attending the Saturday vigil Mass, but our parking venture is our only big fund raiser of the year. We also need volunteer to staff the lot. There is more information in the bulletin. I appreciate your cooperation.

Let us keep in mind those people who have died as a result of natural disasters in the last month. You are probably aware of the immense floods in the Carolinas as a result of Hurricane Florence and the deaths that resulted. I also want to make you aware of the people of the southern state of Kerala in India, who have suffered loss of hundreds of lives and property this past July and August as a result of devastating floods. They are still recovering. I bring this to your attention because the Syro-Malabar Catholics, many of whom are from the Kerala region, worship at Sacred Heart. Let us keep them in our prayers, as well.

Have a blessed week.
