From Fr. Kitsmiller

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Our Lord tells the Apostles that the great among them are the ones who are servants of all. Jesus reminds them that He came to give His life as a ransom for many. If they want to be like Him, they need to do the same. For the Christian, true greatness consists in self-sacrifice, in giving of oneself for others. Jesus is the example, par excellence, of self-gift. He continually gives Himself up for us – to cleanse us of our sins and give us new life, experienced profoundly in the sacraments we receive. We also see this self-sacrifice in our mothers who carried us in their bodies, nurturing us and giving us birth. We see it in our fathers who begat us, helped raise us, protected us and gave us an example of how to live in the world. We thank God for our parents. Let us pray for expecting mothers that they may be given the strength and support to choose life for their unborn children. Let us support them with our prayer and our actions. As we continue our Respect Life month and the month of the Rosary, let us offer some decades of the Rosary this week for the children in the womb and their mothers.

God bless you all.
