Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
In our Catholic Tradition there is a beautiful prayer that we usually pray during the Season of Advent. It was composed upon the belief that our Lord Jesus Christ, Who is the Eternal Word of God and the Only Begotten Son, Who has everything and through Him all things came into being (Jn 1:1-2), He wanted only one thing: to have a mother. So He chose the ever Virgin Mary to be His own Mother. And at the Cross, our Lord Jesus said to His disciple and to all of us: “This is your Mother” (Jn 19:27); after that He “cried out in a loud voice saying, ‘Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.’” His spirit and His Mother are the most precious offerings; they are the completion and the fullness of His plan of salvation.
Our beloved mothers, loving grandmothers, kind godmothers, caring stepmothers, dearest mothers-in-law; we love you more than we did in the past and less than we will in the future. You are God’s heavenly blessings and a perpetuation of His divine love in our lives.
Mother, Mom, Mommy… we love you… Happy Mother’s Day…
