From Fr. Kitsmiller

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

As I write this column, the new Administrator for Sacred Heart, Fr. Pierre Alballaa, MLM is due to arrive on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. Hopefully, you will be able to meet him this Sunday or very shortly after his arrival. Fr. Alballaa will also be responsible for the Maronite Catholic community of Columbus who currently celebrate their Divine Liturgy at St. Andrew. Last week, I incorrectly stated that Fr. Alballaa was already here, serving their community. Another priest from Dayton had been serving them. Fr. Alballaa will be arriving fresh from Los Angeles. Fr. Alballaa is a bi-ritual priest, meaning that he has been trained in both the Maronite rite and the Latin rite (our rite) and has faculties to minister in both Churches. As I mentioned last week, Fr. Alballaa will be staying at Sacred Heart rectory. Let us welcome Father to Sacred Heart parish and Columbus.

I want to express my sincere appreciation to all those who helped make our Holy Week celebrations prayerful, beautiful and inspiring, especially our lectors, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, ushers and musicians. I extend a special thanks to Jim Merckling, Gilda and Dave Cottrill for preparing the church for the Triduum liturgies and decorating the church.

I want to remind you of the Divine Mercy Sunday celebrations at Sacred Heart parish this Sunday afternoon beginning at 1:30 p.m. There is more information in this bulletin.

Again, I want to extend my sincere thanks for your kindness and support during my time with you. I’m sure that our paths will cross again.

Sincerely in Christ,

Fr. Kitsmiller
Associate Administrator
Sacred Heart and St. John the Baptist
