Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Today is the great feast of the Epiphany. We welcome the three Magi to our Nativity scenes, presenting their gifts to the Christ child, gold, frankincense and myrrh. Jesus is seen as the light of the nations, drawing all nations to Himself. We are reminded that Christ has drawn us to Him, as our God and Savior. He draws many others as well, people of different nationalities, races, cultures and languages. By our lives and our love, we reflect the light of Christ to others. We pray that we might always be a brilliant reflection of Christ’s light.
Last month, I informed you that Aggie Howard, the parish business manager for St. John the Baptist and Sacred Heart parishes, will be taken a temporary leave to be with her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter in Florida. She will be helping take care of her granddaughter. She will, however, be returning in April. In the meantime, I have hired Arthur Oaden, a parishioner at Sacred Heart parish, to assume Aggie’s duties while she is gone. Art will start on Monday. His office hours will be the same as Aggie’s, Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We welcome Art to our staff!
