From Fr. Lonzo

My brothers and sisters,

As we continue our celebration of the octave of Easter today, we also celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday. Divine Mercy Sunday was established in the universal Church by the late St. John Paul II during his pontificate, and it was in fact the vigil of Divine Mercy on April 2, 2005, which St. John Paul II was called “home to the Father’s house.” I invite you to celebrate this devotion of the Church and the continued celebration of our risen Lord’s mercy today at Sacred Heart Church. Fr. Bill Deville, former pastor, now retired, will be presiding over the afternoon’s celebration and concluding Mass. I would like to thank Fr. Deville for his willingness to continue to organize the celebration of Divine Mercy at Sacred Heart. Please see the schedule in today’s bulletin for further information.

A special thank-you to all parishioners and volunteers in helping prepare and make both Sacred Heart and St. John the Baptist so beautiful during Holy Week and Easter; I know there were many compliments and I wanted to express my thanks as well. Have a great week!
