From Fr. Lonzo

My brothers and sisters,

I believe it is fitting that we are able to have listened to and continue to listen to Jesus’ words from the Sermon on the Mount in St. Matthew’s Gospel during these weeks. I say this due to what concerns many have about what is going on in our society and culture and especially the divisiveness within the political sphere. Unfortunately, throughout human history these concerns come up and I believe it above all in these times that we are in need to be faithful to Jesus. The beauty of the Beatitudes which begins the Sermon on the Mount, as well as the entire Sermon on the Mount, teach us a wonderful summary of the new way of life which Jesus’ teaching calls us to. If you are concerned, worried, or fearful of the things which occur in the world today, take a moment and turn to Jesus’ words, and to focus once again in our Faith in Christ. Let us keep our eyes on Jesus and strive in our own hearts and lives to be faithful to Him, so that we may continue to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. HAVE A GREAT WEEK! Fr. Tony Lonzo Associate Administrator Sacred Heart and St. John the Baptist
