From Fr. Kitsmiller

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I pray that you will have a blessed Thanksgiving holiday this coming Thursday. If you are traveling, I ask God to give you safe travels and may God also protect family and friends who are coming to see you. The parish office will be closed Thursday and Friday, in observance of the holiday. As we gather to celebrate family and friendships, with lots of food and good times, remember to give thanks to God for creating you, blessing you with his love and giving you the many liberties you enjoy as Americans. Let us pray for those people around the world who do not enjoy such freedoms, such as religious liberty. We are also reminded of those who are less fortunate than us in our own country who do not have the blessings of food, material resources, family or friendship. From our resources and generosity, let us help to fulfill their needs. An appropriate way to remember them and to express our thanks to God would be to come to Mass and partake of the Eucharist – a word that means thanksgiving. On Wednesday evening, November 22nd, we will have Mass at St. John the Baptist at 6:00 p.m. I hope you can join us.

May God bless you this week!
