From Fr. Lonzo's Desk

Its hard to imagine that we are over half way through our Lenten journey and will soon be preparing for Holy Week and Easter.  After consulting Fr. Antonio on the schedule of these celebrations and examining the various pastoral needs within the parish groupings in our area; here is the schedule for Holy Week and Easter:

Palm Sunday will be celebrated as per our usual Sunday Mass schedule.  There will be no Wednesday evening Mass or simple supper of Holy Week.  HolyThursday, the Mass of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m at Sacred Heart Church.  Fr. Antonio asked that I celebrate the Lord’s Passion at 2 p.m. on Good Friday at Sacred Heart Church and that Deacon Felix celebrate the Good Friday services at St. John the Baptist (at this time we are waiting for Deacon to return from a family funeral to specify the time). The Easter Vigil will be celebrated at 8 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Church; there will be NO vigil Mass March 26th at Sacred Heart.  Easter Sunday we will have Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist and 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart.  Thank you for your understanding and patience; I hope that all of you are able to participate in this wonderfully spiritual time as we prepare to celebrate the central mystery of our Faith, the passion, death and resurrection of the Lord.

Have a great week!

Associate Administrator Sacred Heart and St. John the Baptist
