My brothers and sisters, On January 22nd, many thousands of people will gather in Washington, D.C. to participate in the annual March for Life, which coincides with the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision of Roe v. Wade in 1971, which legalized abortion in the United States. Although we may not get to participate physically in the March for Life we are asked to mark this day with fasting and abstinence and prayer for the violations against the sanctity of human life from conception until natural death. We must be mindful in our lives of faith of how we defend the sacred gift of human life which begins at conception and ends in natural death. So let us join our acts of prayer and penance this week to those who suffer the evils of abortion and other sins against the sacredness of human life. Have a great week! Fr. Tony Lonzo Associate Administrator, Sacred Heart and St. John the Baptist.
