My brothers and sisters, Today, we celebrate “Gaudete” Sunday, meaning “rejoice,” taken from the Introit of today’s Mass. It is fitting that as we enter into this third week of Advent there is a sense of rejoicing as we wait in joyful anticipation and hope for the coming of our Savior. It is my hope and prayer that you may find that joy in your hearts as we prepare to make a proper dwelling in our hearts and lives for Jesus as we not only prepare to celebrate His birth; but also wait in joyful hope for His coming again.
Thank you for all who were able to help make last Sunday’s potluck so successful. It certainly seemed that everyone brought delicious food and no one went home hungry. It was a wonderful time for our parish to come together and enjoy each other’s company and great food.
I invite you to join us as we host Worthington Kilbourne and Dublin Coffman’s choirs to sing at Sacred Heart Church this Friday December 18th at 7:00 p.m. for some music as we prepare for Christmas.
Have a great week!
